General Information on Wells Gray
Provincial Park:
Over
540, 000 hectares in the Cariboo Mountains, Wells Gray Park is one
of the most spectacular parks in British Columbia, Canada.
Helmcken Falls , the third highest waterfall in Canada and
numerous other waterfalls and natural wonders make it an
absolutely outstanding attraction for visitors from all over the
world. Just north of Clearwater, BC, this park has everything to
offer for either the adventurous traveler or the relaxed nature
lover. Clearwater and Azure Lake, nestled in the mountains and
connected by the Clearwater River offer over 100 km of shoreline.
Guided canoe trips, horseback trips, hikes, dogsled trips,
snowshoeing & wildlife viewing and snowmobiling in the surrounding
mountains make Wells Gray Park a year round destination for
outdoor adventure enthusiasts.
The world famous Helmcken Falls are only one attraction in
spectacular Wells Gray Park. Spahats Falls, Dawson Falls, Green
Mountain Viewing Tower, historic Ray Farm, the Salmon Run at
Bailey's Chute and picturesque Clearwater- and Azure Lakes
surrounded by breathtaking mountain scenery are favourite sights
for the visitor to the park. Moose, Caribou, Deer, Black Bear,
Grizzlies, Mountain Goats, Beaver, Eagles, Cougars, Wolves
and Coyotes are only a few examples of nature's creatures native
to this vast wilderness area
